Claim a founding seatBefore you list: three things worth telling a mower about a Cranbourne East lawn
- Put the estate name and the turf's year on the listing. Cascades on Clyde and a lot finished last spring are two different cuts.
- A fortnightly bin and a young estate lawn in October do not always agree; bin, mulch or trailer is the choice to make on the listing.
- Part of the growth boundary runs along the south of the suburb; if your lot backs onto open paddock rather than another house, say what that fence line is.
Cranbourne East lawn mowing questions
How much does lawn mowing cost in Cranbourne East?+
Our model has a 180 m² Cranbourne East lawn near $100-$145 for each cut. The mower quotes on your block's aerial measurement, front and back together, so the bid lands where your own lawn does.
Is the nature strip mine to mow in Cranbourne East?+
Yes, if you own or occupy the property. Casey holds the land but leaves urban strips to the household, without a published grass height; overgrown grass is a Community Local Law 2025 matter. Listing the strip with the lawn gets both done in one visit.
How high should a new Cranbourne East lawn be cut?+
At 60-70 mm through its first two summers, then lower, and never with over a third of the leaf removed at once. Most of the turf here dates from the 2008 subdivision onward, so the year yours was laid is the one detail the mower needs.
About Cranbourne East
Subdivision began in 2008 under the Growth Areas Authority's draft Cranbourne East Development Plan, which covered the land roughly bounded by the South Gippsland Highway, Casey Fields, Berwick-Cranbourne Road and Thompson Road and set out parkland, housing at high and low density and a small industrial precinct. Cascades on Clyde is one of the estates. The population went from 4,058 in 2006 to 8,211 in 2011 and 24,679 in 2021 on 13.4 square kilometres, so most lawns here date from the 2008 subdivision on. Part of the urban growth boundary runs along the southern edge.
The Casey Complex opened in December 1994 as the Cranbourne Complex, and Casey RACE with its 50 m pool went in beside it in June 2009. Cranbourne East P-12 took its first Preps in February 2011; Casey Grammar and Chisholm TAFE's Cranbourne campus are in the suburb too. The Casey Fields sporting complex sits on the eastern edge. A station near Reynard Street was in the 2008 Victorian Transport Plan, but no passenger train has run on this track since July 1993. For the lawn itself the year matters more than the street: turf under two summers old is cut high, older turf goes lower.
Cranbourne East is City of Casey. The council owns the nature strips, describes the urban ones as the property owner's or occupier's to look after, and gives no grass-height figure, leaving overgrown grass to its Community Local Law 2025 from 2 March 2026. A green-lid bin for garden clippings and food scraps goes out fortnightly and is standard for all residential properties by 2026. Casey prunes urban street trees every three years.
