Before you list: three things worth telling a mower about a Cranbourne West lawn

  • The low-density lots planned for the southern end and the standard estate lots take different machines and different prices.
  • Give the turf's year. A 2010s lawn and one finished this spring are cut at different heights.
  • Fortnightly green bin: if a spring fortnight's clippings will not fit, ask for them mulched back in.

Cranbourne West lawn mowing questions

How much does lawn mowing cost in Cranbourne West?+

A standard 180 m² lawn in Cranbourne West comes to $100-$145 on our model's reckoning. Bids are made on your own block as the aerial shows it, so a low-density lot at the southern end can price above that.

What are Casey's nature strip rules in Cranbourne West?+

The council owns the strip; whoever owns or occupies the house keeps it. No grass height is published; the Casey Community Local Law 2025 is what covers overgrown grass. Street-tree pruning is the council's, on a three-year cycle. Add the strip to the listing and the mower cuts both.

What if my Cranbourne West lawn backs onto a reserve?+

The 2008 development plan provides for a network of parks and pathways through the suburb rather than naming reserves. If your fence line meets one, or a drainage easement, say so on the listing, because an open edge changes the trimming.

About Cranbourne West

Building has run since the 1990s. The Sandhurst Centre opened at Duff Street and Monahans Road in 2006, and the City of Casey's Cranbourne West Development Plan of 2008 took in the parcel between Thompsons Road, Evans Road, the Western Port Highway and Ballarto Road, allotting part of it to a large industrial area and the rest to a shopping centre, housing, a network of parks and pathways, a primary school and a secondary college. The south of that parcel, above the growth boundary, was planned for low-density housing. The count went from 3,945 in 2001 to 8,743 in 2011 and 19,969 in 2021, more than doubling through the 2010s.

Quarters Primary is in the north and Barton Primary in the south, with Cranbourne West Secondary College on Strathlea Drive and St Peters College on Sladen Street at the far southern end. The listing has to carry what the ground does: say which direction the lawn drops and whether any corner stays wet. Turf under two summers old should be left long, 60-70 mm, and a cut that strips more than a third off sets a young lawn back.

Cranbourne West is City of Casey. Casey's nature strips are council land kept by whoever owns or occupies the property beside them, and the council prints no height; overgrown grass is the Community Local Law 2025's job, and that law has applied since 2 March 2026. Green-lid bins for food and garden waste are fortnightly and standard issue for every residential property by 2026, and urban street trees get a council prune every three years.
