Before you list: three things worth telling a mower about a Narre Warren South lawn

  • Name your estate - Berwick Springs, Hillsmeade, Golden Grove or another - and the year the turf went down if you know it.
  • Blocks along the Hallam Valley waterway's linear parks: tell the mower which side the park is on and where the back fence drains.
  • Casey's green bin is fortnightly. Pick bin or mulch when you list so nothing waits in bags.

Narre Warren South lawn mowing questions

How much does lawn mowing cost in Narre Warren South?+

$100-$145 for a 180 m² lawn in our model. The aerial measurement on your listing is what the mowers quote on, so a block with lawn front and back lands above that figure and a small front lawn under it. If the turf is under two summers old, say so.

Who mows the nature strip in Narre Warren South?+

The owner or occupier. Casey owns the strip but leaves urban strips to the property to manage and maintain. No height figure is published; overgrown grass is covered by the Community Local Law 2025, in force since March 2026.

How old are the lawns in Narre Warren South?+

The land south of the Hallam Valley waterway was rural until the mid-1990s; Berwick Springs and Hillsmeade date from about 1999, with Golden Grove, Camden Greens and Silverleaf after that. Turf laid in the last two years still wants a 60-70 mm cut.

About Narre Warren South

The land south of the waterway stayed rural while the 1970s-80s corridors were built up around it. Extensive subdivision started in the mid-1990s. Berwick Springs and Cypress Hill/Hillsmeade launched around 1999, with Golden Grove, Camden Greens and Silverleaf after them. Schools tracked the houses: Trinity Catholic primary in 2000 and Hillsmeade primary in 2003, Strathaird two years later. The population went from 13,970 in 2001 to 28,594 in 2011, doubling in a decade.

The Hallam Valley waterway skirts the suburb and drains to Eumemmerring Creek, with linear parks along it. The suburb covers 13.3 square kilometres and its housing dates largely from the mid-1990s on, the oldest of it now in its third decade. A lawn in its first two summers wants a 60-70 mm cut, with no more than a third of the leaf taken at a time.

Narre Warren South is City of Casey. Urban nature strips are the property owner's or occupier's to manage and maintain even though the council owns them, no grass-height figure is published, and overgrown grass comes under the Casey Community Local Law 2025. The green-lid food and garden bin is emptied fortnightly. Casey Central, rebuilt in 2016, is the shopping centre toward Cranbourne, and Amberly Park's centre serves the Hampton Park side; Narre Warren South P-12 College is the state school.
