Before you list: three things worth telling a mower about a Botanic Ridge lawn

  • Name the estate, Botanic Ridge or Settlers Run, and when the turf was laid.
  • A golf-course boundary is an open edge. If your lot backs onto the Settlers Run course, say whether it is fenced.
  • Casey's green bin comes fortnightly. A spring cut on a young lawn can fill it, so ask for mulch-mowing on the in-between visit.

Botanic Ridge lawn mowing questions

How much does lawn mowing cost in Botanic Ridge?+

A 180 m² Botanic Ridge lawn reads $100-$145 on the model, one mow. Estate lots here are quoted on their own aerial measurement, so yours lands where it lands.

Does the council mow nature strips in Botanic Ridge?+

Not the urban ones. Casey owns the strip and puts its upkeep on the owner or occupier, with no published grass height; overgrown grass is a matter for the Community Local Law 2025. Add it to the listing and it is cut the same visit.

How should a new Botanic Ridge lawn be mown?+

High, to begin with. Turf laid in the last two summers wants 60-70 mm left standing, and no single cut should remove over a third of the blade. The estates date from after 2009; give the mower the year yours went down.

About Botanic Ridge

Before the estates, the south side of Cranbourne was the racecourse, the Botanic Gardens and open paddocks to Pearcedale, with the Cranbourne South primary school of 1956, the general store in Pearcedale Road and a few farmhouses and sheds the only things in the view. The Settlers Run golf course dates from 2007, when the land was still Cranbourne South. Two large estates have gone in since, Botanic Ridge and Settlers Run, and the Settlers Run Golf and Country Club sits inside the second. The estates date from after 2009, so the year your turf went down belongs on the listing.

The boundaries are Ballarto Road and the Botanic Gardens to the north, Craig Road to the east, Browns Road to the south and Pearcedale Road to the west, with the gardens themselves given over to Australian native plants. Botanic Ridge is City of Casey. Nature strips are council land, but the urban ones are left to the property owner or occupier to keep; Casey gives no grass-height figure, and overgrown grass is a local-law matter, the Community Local Law 2025 that took effect on 2 March 2026. By 2026 every residential property has the green-lid bin, garden and food waste together, emptied fortnightly. Say on the listing what your own block does after rain, because nobody else can.
