Claim a founding seatBefore you list: three things worth telling a mower about a Narre Warren North lawn
- Rural-residential lots need the lawn area in square metres, not the block size. The aerial measurement on the listing does it.
- The small hills are real here; a slope a ride-on cannot take needs saying, along with which way the lawn falls.
- A fortnightly bin does not swallow a paddock's clippings. Ask for mulch-mowing or say the clippings can stay.
Narre Warren North lawn mowing questions
How much does lawn mowing cost in Narre Warren North?+
A 180 m² lawn in Narre Warren North sits at $100-$145 on the model's figures. A rural-residential lawn measures far past that, and the quote is made on your own aerial area, so expect it to scale.
Do I have to keep the nature strip in Narre Warren North?+
Casey says yes for urban strips: the council owns the land and the occupier keeps it mown, with no height figure published and overgrown grass left to the Community Local Law 2025. On a rural road, say what is actually at the front boundary, a mown verge or not, so the mower knows what is being asked.
Is Narre Warren North steep?+
The name means small hills, among other things, and the little hills of the district sit mostly north of the urban area, where the Grange site on A'Beckett Road looks out from a hilltop. The suburb sits about 62 m up. Say on your listing which parts of the lawn slope; slope goes to the trimmer and is priced that way.
About Narre Warren North
Smaller farms were selected east of the government reserve by the 1870s. A Methodist chapel of 1876 was used as the school, the government school opened in 1877, and the mechanics' institute followed in 1888; the post office of 21 January 1869 was renamed in 1900. Wheat and barley came after the clearing, then mixed farming, dairying and apple orchards, and Brundretts' rose nurseries from 1926 on Brundrett Road. The village keeps its avenue of honour in Memorial Drive, the hall, the general store, the Uniting church and the school, with Mary MacKillop Catholic primary added in 1995.
The change came in the early 1990s, when subdivisions in Narre Warren crossed the border and the boundary was moved north from Anaconda Road to Ernst Wanke Road. Rural-residential subdivision followed, and by 2010 it flanked the village on two sides; the count went from 1,014 in 1991 to 8,033 in 2021 across 11.5 square kilometres. The suburb sits about 62 m up, and the little hills of Narre Warren lie mostly north of the urban area: the Grange homestead site on A'Beckett Road is a hilltop looking out over mostly undomesticated country. Lysterfield Lake, a reservoir from 1936 to 1975, is now a park with remnant native vegetation. Jack Thomas Reserve and the recreation reserve on Belgrave-Hallam Road are the sports grounds.
Narre Warren North sits in the City of Casey. The nature strips belong to the council, and the urban ones are managed and maintained by the property owner or occupier, with no grass height published; overgrown grass has come under the Community Local Law 2025 since 2 March 2026. Street trees on urban streets get a council prune once in three years. The green-lid bin, garden waste and food scraps together, is fortnightly and standard for residential properties by 2026. On a rural-residential block the lawn may be a small paddock: give the area from the aerial and say what the mower can drive onto.
