Hume's Residential Nature Strip Policy (POL/194, re-adopted 12 March 2024) makes the resident or owner responsible for regular mowing, edging, weeding and litter removal on the nature strip on every side of the property; council only does works to make safe, reinstates soil rather than turf, and plants and removes the street trees itself. The policy carries no grass-height figure; the landscaping guidelines cap planted vegetation on a strip at 400 mm for sight lines. The green-lid food and garden bin is fortnightly, 140 L or 240 L, and has been included in the standard waste charge for every household since 1 July 2024.

About Tullamarine

Farm lots were subdivided in 1842 and the last sold in 1850. A Wesleyan school came in 1855, a Methodist church in 1870 and the state primary school in 1884. The district turned from farms to a residential township in the 1950s; the primary school moved to a new site in 1961 and a drive-in cinema ran from 1955 to 1984. Population counts tell the shape of it: 82 in 1891, 1,666 in 1966, 6,664 in 2001. The name is most often traced to Tullamareena, a Wurundjeri man.

The terrain is generally flat, open to northerly winds in summer and southerlies in winter. Moonee Ponds Creek loops around the residential area and the airport bounds it to the west. The wider historic district once ran out to the Maribyrnong River, Jacksons Creek and Deep Creek. Whatever the side access is now, put its width on the listing.
