Dandenong lawn mowing questions
How much does lawn mowing cost in Dandenong?+
Between $100 and $145 for a standard visit on a 180 m² lawn, by our guide. Original 1950s blocks sit near it; a unit or Metro 3175 courtyard under.
Whose job is the nature strip in Dandenong?+
The resident's. Greater Dandenong says nature strips must be regularly maintained by the property residents and recommends grass no more than 100 mm; it mows or waters only where there is a public-safety risk. Add the strip when you list.
My lawn is waterlogged in winter - what then?+
Wait. Mowing a sodden creek-flat lawn ruts it and tears the grass. A mower will reschedule a few days out; the wet-grass guide explains why.
About Dandenong
The 1950s and 60s houses that came with the factories are on flat, regular blocks with a front lawn, a nature strip, a side driveway and a back yard. A great many have been redeveloped with units at the rear, sharing the driveway, and closer to the centre the Metro 3175 development adds apartment and townhouse courtyards. So the Dandenong lawn is either an original rectangle or a small shared-access one, and saying which is yours gets an accurate quote.
The ground is low by the creek, so if your lawn stays wet after rain longer than you expect, a mower will leave it a few days rather than rut it. The grass is couch and kikuyu in full sun on most streets, buffalo where the older trees shade. Summer on the flats is hot and dry; a higher cut helps. Dandenong Market and Armada Plaza are the shopping.
Dandenong is City of Greater Dandenong. Residents must maintain the nature strip regularly and the council recommends the grass be kept to no more than 100 mm; it mows or waters a strip only where there is a public-safety risk. The 240 L green-lid organics bin is fortnightly, $121 a year as the garden component of the standard bin options.
