Emerson School came in 1973 and the Rosewood Downs estate was built from about 1974 to 1981, then Lyndale Greens Primary opened in 2010. A small shopping centre sits on Menzies Avenue. By 2001 the population was 22,283. The name means what it says: a locality north of Dandenong.
